GAMES Board Member Tapped for Healthcare Committee

GAMES Executive Committee Member, Jeremy Killough, president of Southeastern Home Oxygen of Columbus, GA has been appointed to the Healthcare Advisory Council for US Representative Drew Ferguson (R, GA-3). This committee is comprised of 17 members representing physicians, hospitals, therapists, mental health, emergency services, homecare, and more across the state. The goal of the committee is to keep Congressman Ferguson and his team informed of the ongoing issues and concerns about reforming our nation’s healthcare system and federal healthcare programs.

Killough says "I am honored to be asked to serve on Congressman Furguson's council. The council is comprised of very informed individuals who are experts in their field of healthcare. I am looking forward to learning about other healthcare segments and discussing the issues that the DME industry faces. I was impressed by Congressman Furguson's initiative to start this council and his genuine concern for our healthcare system. "

Southeastern Home Oxygen has been serving homecare patients for 42 years in Columbus, GA.

Make good use of your investment to attend the GAMES Annual Meeting!

Good Day GAMES Members-

Thank you all for affording me the opportunity to spend time with you and cone alongside of you through my presentations regarding Organizational Health and Sales Coaching.

I want to follow up on one key takeaway from each of these presentations that I believe you need to give some attention to.

For Business Optimization, the biggest takeaway is: Are you planning for 2018”?

What are you doing today to make 2018 better than 2017. You need to finish this year strong, so what are you doing to make that a reality and then how are you planning to implement change in your business for 2018. What are the products and services that provide the best ROI and are you focused on those enough. What is your plan for growing your business? You will not increase your business in 2018 without a plan. Like we said, "Today is the best day to plant a Tree”

For Sale Coaching and Sales in general, the biggest takeaway is: "Are you spending enough time on the front of the Sales Funnel then on Cash Flow”

We all know that Cash Flow is KING. But that king will be a prince if you do not feed it. The beginning of our businesses is referral based and we need to spend more time on the Sales Funnel to achieve our Plan. I contend that we have our Eclipse Glasses on and cannot see the Sales potential before us because we do not have a Sales Business Optimization Plan and we do not Coach our team. Time to take off the glasses and get a good look at our business.

As an added takeaway, have you taken the time to reflect on the things you heard at the meeting and are you doing something (anything) with that information. Make time to reflect and implement.

Survey Remains Open through Sept. 13; Need more input from Georgia

From AAHomecare

The terrific support from AAHomecare members and other stakeholders throughout the HME community in publicizing the survey to patients and case managers has played a major role in the success of this campaign. We have had more than 300 case managers/discharge planners from 37 states take part in the survey, and have responses from more than 200 beneficiaries in 38 states.

We still need your help though!  The window for participation in the Patient Access Survey ends in 7 days, and we’re calling on GAMES members to invite case managers, Medicare beneficiaries, and suppliers to take the survey before it closes on Wednesday, 9/13..

Didn’t Get Enough of Richard Davis at the GAMES Annual Meeting?

Focus on Hiring is on Day One at Medtrade!

Richard Davis, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, founder, HirePowerHR, Charleston, SC, has heard the pleas from HME providers. Some say they don’t have the time to properly screen and interview potential employees. Davis believes providers must make the time, and for those who do, Davis has sage advice to share on day one of Medtrade.

What Would You Do? Best Practice Scenario Game takes place on Monday, Oct 23, from 3:15 – 4:15, in Room C209 at the Georgia World Congress Center in Atlanta. With Medtrade less than 50 days away, show officials sat down with Davis to get an idea of the presentation and the philosophy behind long-term success in human resources.
