New Leadership at GAMES

At the Annual Meeting this past August, GAMES members voted to add Christa Forrester of Airgas to fill the vacant Director’s seat as Joe Gessner’s term expired. (Terms are for 3 years)

A few weeks later, on a GAMES Board of Directors Conference call, the Board voted to fill a previously vacant seat with John Storie of Pride Mobility / Quantum Rehab.

"I couldn’t be more pleased”, says Tyler Riddle, GAMES president. "The addition of Christa and John to the GAMES Board gives the association a wealth of experience, knowledge, and vision that we have not previously experienced. I look forward to working with both John and Christa as we plan ahead to better meet the needs of the association, our members, and the industry. Many thanks to both John and Christa for their willingness to serve in this important capacity.”

Christa Forrester, Airgas
Christa Forrester brings over 28 years of industry experience to the GAMES Board. Christa is not a stranger to the effort required to serve the association though! She was GAMES education chair over a decade ago when she was with Georgia Medical Gases. Christa says she is looking forward to her new role with GAMES, collaborating with GAMES leadership and members to move the association forward.

John Storie, Pride Mobility / Quantum Rehab
John began his career at Pride in August of 1999 as the Rehab Specialist in Atlanta, Georgia. Combining his salesmanship and rehab knowledge, and as the role of Rehab Specialist evolved into Quantum Rehab, John was promoted to Quantum Team Leader for GA, and AL.  In 2010, John was promoted to Director of Quantum Field Sales. John works very closely with accounts and facilities to help with new product development and product advancements. In 2015 John became the Director of Quantum Sales for Eastern America.

Time to crank up those phone calls again!

Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-WA) has been working on legislation to provide relief for providers to patients in non-CB areas. The legislation would effectively roll back the second round of cuts for non-bid area suppliers, effective retroactively to January 1, 2017 and through 2018.

Rep. McMorris Rodgers has shared a draft bill with us and requested that we work to get original co-sponsors on the bill. An original co-sponsor’s name would be included when the bill is introduced. It sends a powerful message when there are many original co-sponsors!

Rep. Dave Loebsack (D-IA) will be the Democratic lead.

Georgia’s Representatives that signed onto one or both of the last two letters to CMS / HHS and the letter to OMB should be receptive to co-sponsoring this legislation. In Georgia these include:

Rep. Rick Allen
Rep. Sanford Bishop
Rep. Buddy Carter
Rep. Doug Collins
Rep. Jody Hice
Rep. David Scott
Rep. Barry Loudermilk
Rep. Tom Graves
Rep  John Lewis
Rep. Drew Ferguson
Rep. Austin Scott

Once the bill is introduced and there is a bill number, we will reach out again asking for our remaining reps to "sign-on”.

Plans are to introduce the bill in early November. Let’s try to get some GA names as original co-sponsors!

CLICK HERE for the language. Remember this is not a bill yet. This is the language you would share with your representative as you ask him / her to be an original co-sponsor.
